At First Pres, we believe that every person has unique, God-given gifts and talents to be used for his Kingdom and his glory. We want to help you identify and use your gifts for the sake of building up the church.
SERVE AT SUNDAY WORSHIP
We have a lot of moving parts on Sunday mornings, and it takes a lot of people to help things run smoothly. Our goal on Sunday mornings is to create an environment where we can have a fresh encounter with God the Father and come to know Jesus through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. We have several different ways to serve on Sunday mornings, including:
Music Ministries
Do you have a passion or talent for music? We have a worship choir and a worship band. We can use your enthusiasm for music to serve God and bless our church body. Click here for more information on our Music Ministries.

Greeters
If you enjoy people, smiling and saying hello, greeting ministry could be for you! Greeters proved that crucial "first-encounter" for people as they enter the church.

Tech Ministries
If you have an interest in multimedia, sound or running our cammera, we can use those passions for Sunday morning worship. Training is provided. Our Multimedia team is also a great way to get High School students involved in service.

Ushers
If you love hospitality, consider being an usher. Ushers provide a warm smile, assist people to their seats, collect the offering, and maintain a welcoming worship environment.

SERVE OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY
Beyond Sunday morning worship, we have several other opportunities to serve within our church. We'd love to talk with you about some ways you could get involved. Use the contact form below to share with us your interests, and we'll work to help you find a way to use them. We are passionate about serving the city of Aurora and providing opportunities for people to get outside of the church walls and bless the neighborhood as well. Some of our various teams are listed below:
kids Team
Do you enjoy helping others see the way the whole Bible fits together as one story? Do you get excited about seeing how all of Scripture points to Jesus? Would you like to? Our Sunday classes are taught in teams of 2-3 to provide opportunities for deep relationships and collaboration. Training and curriculum provided. Nursery Volunteers
An important part of faith development for babies and toddlers is a sense of belonging and love in the church. Be a part of this experience for young children by volunteering in the nursery. This ministry also blesses young parents. Contact: Britta Wallbaum (britta@firstpresaurora.org).
Urban Youth Ministry
If you would enjoy giving homework help or playing games with neighborhood kids as part of the after-school program of Wayside Cross’s Urban Youth Ministry (one of our community parnters), join us during the week! Volunteer commitments are flexible; Contact: Brenda Bustamante (bbustamante@firstpresaurora.org).
Youth teaching team
If you would enjoy teaching or helping to teach the Bible to middle school or high school students, join us on Sudnay mornings from 10:45 - 11:35 am. Contact: Pastor David Goetz (dgoetz@firstpresaurora.org)
Youth Group
If you would enjoy getting to know junior high and senior high students over Bible study, games and just hanging out, join us on Sunday nights from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Harkness Center. Contact: Pastor David Goetz (dgoetz@firstpresaurora.org)
Prayer Team
Support everything we are doing through regularly interceding in prayer, both on your own and through intentional prayer events such as prayer walks, prayer services, and praying at Planned Parenthood. Contact: John and Mary Ann Vincent (jkvincent7@hotmail.com)
Disability Ministry Team
The Disability Ministry Team seeks to be the hands and feet of Jesus to families affected by disabilities both inside and outside our church community. We have various areas of need including being available for children in our kids programs or during worship, and helping out with our adults at Sunday Classes or our monthly Friendship Bible club.
