Mission Aurora Week is here! Join us July 25-28 as we come together to bless our community through service, hospitality and fun. We will worship together, eat together, and serve together on July 25-27; and conclude with a Slugs and Bugs concert (www.slugsandbugs.com) and carnival for families beginning at 4:00 pm on July 28. Register in Murray Commons or in the church office.  

 

General Schedule

Wednesday, July 25

5:00 pm - Dinner
6:30 pm - Worship/Teaching/Breakout Sessions (This evening will be our “In-House Launch
Night” - preparing us to welcome and engage our neighbors on the following evenings)

Thursday, July 26 & Friday, July 27

8:00 am - Light Breakfast & Morning Devotions

9:00 am - Prayer Walks/Ministry/Prep Work with Ministry Teams

3:30 - 5:00 pm - Worship/Teaching/Breakout Sessions

5:15 pm -  “Party on Fourth Street” – Dinner and Evening Outreach and Fellowship, including
Mobile Food Pantry (Th), Garage Sale (F), and STEM events for kids both nights

Saturday, July 28

8:00 am - Light Breakfast & Morning Devotions

9:00 am -  Prayer Walks/Ministry/Carnival and Concert Prep

4:00 pm - “Slugs and Bugs” Concert for Kids and Families

5:00 pm -  “Party on Fourth Street” Carnival

**Please note that LUNCH  will not be included as a part of the Mission Aurora schedule this year**

COST: $25 per person (to help cover ministry and meal costs, but cost should not prevent anyone from coming and participating – please give as you are able)

 

 

Ministry team overview

Baseball Camp:  Volunteers (high school age and older) will primarily serve Monday - Friday, July 23 – 26, 9:00 am - 1:30 pm. Roles include Registration, Hospitality, Lunch prep, and Baseball coaches. Ministry Team Lead – Robin Renner, robin_renner@ipsd.org.

Hospitality: Volunteers (all ages) will primarily serve evenings July 26 - 28. Roles include: Welcoming and connecting with guests, serving dessert, playing outdoor games. Ministry Team Leads – Mike & Mary Gerhard, megerhard@sbcglobal.net/ and marygerhard11@gmail.com.

Meal Team: Volunteers (high school age and older) will primarily serve July 25 - 28, afternoon/evenings. Roles include: dinner prep, service, and clean-up. Ministry Team Lead – Kelli Marks, klmarks@comcast.net.

Mobile Food Pantry/Garage Sale: Volunteers (middle school age and older, or 4th/5th grade with a parent) will primarily serve evenings July 26 & 27, with some prep work during the days. Roles include: Sorting garage sale donations, Set-up, Distribution. Ministry Team Leads  - Natalie Hoskins, nataliehoskins@yahoo.com (food pantry) / Sarah Pavey, s.pavey@sbcglobal.net (garage sale)

Prayer Life Team: Volunteers (all ages) will primarily serve mornings and evenings July 25 - 28. Roles include: Morning prayer walks (Using physical & spiritual senses to pray on site with insight) - leaving every morning from church campus at 9:00 am, offering prayer at Mobile Food Pantry Thursday evening and other evening activities, Prayer at Planned Parenthood Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.  Ministry Team Leads – John & Mary Ann Vincent, jkvincent7@hotmail.com/ and mavincent7@hotmail.com.

Summer Kids Club: Volunteers (middle school age and older, or 4th/5th grade with a parent) will primarily serve July 25 - 28, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Roles include: Hosts, Bible Teachers, Art Leaders, Music Leaders, Recreation Leaders and Small Group Leaders

* Slugs & Bugs Concert: Volunteers will primarily serve July 28. Roles include: A/V team, Merch volunteers, Hospitality, General Planning

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Team: Volunteers (middle school age and older, or 4th/5th grade with a parent) will primarily serve evenings July 26 & 27, with some prep work during the days. Roles include: Station hosts facilitating pre-planned experiments. Ministry Team Lead – Dave Hoskins, davidhoskinsivvc@yahoo.com

MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY – Shipwrecked VBS Team: Middle School and High School students are encouraged to serve with Iglesia San Pablo’s Vacation Bible School Monday - Friday, July 23 - 27, 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Students will serve as small group leaders for children. Mission Aurora fee waived; meals will be provided by Iglesia San Pablo. Ministry Team Lead – Rigo Ortiz, rortiz6788@gmail.com.
