At First Presbyterian Church, we believe that education in the Scriptures and the teaching of the faith is essential to our spiritual growth. Jesus’ final words in the book of Matthew, the Great Commission (Mt. 28.18-20) call us to “make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey all that I have command you.” All Christians are both disciple-makers and disciples in process. Disciples are Bible-based people; the study of God’s Word shapes our lifestyle. Sunday School is one way we grow in our love and knowledge of God and his Word, a relationship that will continue forever!
Classes take place on Sundays morning from 9:15-10:15. We encourage everybody to explore the course offerings and get involved! Here are the classes currently available:

Christianity calls us to sacrifice instead of living for oneself. We have to choose one or the other—we can't do both. The Christians in Corinth tried to live the Christian life in a worldly way. Paul wrote the letter of 1 Corinthians to a divided and self-centered people to remind them to follow Jesus and only Jesus. In this 12-part series, author and speaker Jennie Allen walks into the messy lives of the Corinthians and takes us through Paul’s words to the conflicted church. Join other women as we discuss how the truth of the gospel and the Spirit of God can empower us to choose to follow Jesus every day of our lives.
Class: Family Enrichment Class

The Old Testament has a lot to teach us! We are currently studying 1-2 Samuel. A typical class starts with praise and prayer time followed by study and discussion. Along with studying the Bible, we also have a passion for service and missions – sometimes we use our Sunday School time to serve our community or hear from missionaries, putting God’s Word into action!
