
First Presbyterian church
celebrates its 150th anniversary.
Here are some of the activities that we have been planning:
We are putting together a cookbook and need recipes. We would like for everyone
send in two or three of your favorite recipes. Recipies should be brought to the
office and place in the box on Kathy's desk. You may aslo Email them to
office@firstpresaurora.org.
Deadline is April 1, 2008.
We are selling two commemorative items, a beautiful
throw blanket and a tote bag. They both have the 150th logo on them. The throw
is selling for $40.00 and the tote is $15.00. You can see examples of these
items hanging in the Murray Room.
To purchase either of these, place a check in an envelope with your name on it
and take it to the church office.
April 13
The Presbyterian women will be hosting a lovely, old fashion tea from 2:00 to
4:00 pm. with an open house and tour thru the church. Missions will have
artifacts in Murray room, upstairs a mural painted by Margaret Rhoades will be
on display, and in Graham hall will be photo's of pastors past and present (put
together by Jamie Lara, Sue Mosey and Barb Secor.)
May 2
You are invited to a fellowship meal with Rev. Rus Ritchell at Fireside
Restaurant in Sugar Grove. Call church office to make reservations.
May 4
Rev. Ritchell will be preaching at both services.
June 13
For the 150th we will celebrate a Concert of Praise, Tim Gregson and the choir
will be doing a special 45 minute concert. Old-fashion ice cream social will
follow the concert.
June 14
Gala Heritage Banquet, catered by American Cuisine in the Harkness Center.
Tickets will go on sale April 20th. Seating will be limited to 400. For those
with little children a 150th birthday party is planned in graham hall with free
meal, games, and free babysitting. Parents you can bring your child to banquet
dinner or enjoy a night out with your children only a few feet away. More info

June 15
Communion Sunday worship with Rev. Cal Marcum. 10:30 we will have a balloon lift
in the parking lot for all ages. Balloons are biodegradable and permission was
given by the city of Aurora to launch.
